How I Got My Spots

$2,455.00

Have you heard the story of how the leopard got its spots?

There’s a theory that the distinctive patterns of the wild cats are adaptations to their living conditions. That their spots, stripes, and fur color reflect the influences of their environment. Take for example, the lion and its tawny savannah, the leopard in its shaded trees, or the snow caps that nestle the lynx.

I think of this and wonder if we are any different. If we are able to defy the defining nature of our surroundings and refuse that it shapes us. Or if maybe the only difference between us and those cats is that we don’t wear our conformity on our skin.
