Roots is the first life-sized figure I created and decidedly the point in my artistic lifeline that I knew I wanted to be a working artist. Indicative from her name, creating her connected me back to a truer sense of self. While I had made art long before her and will long after, she serves as a reminder of what I can accomplish when I push the limits of comfort.
